Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for two experienced Assistant Solicitors to join a high-profile Public Inquiry legal team based in central Edinburgh. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to work of significant public importance, within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

The Role

Working closely with the Solicitor to the Inquiry and Counsel, you will play a key role in identifying witnesses, gathering and analysing evidence, and supporting the overall investigative process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and recovering evidence, including engagement with external stakeholders
  • Reviewing and analysing large volumes of documentation and assessing relevance
  • Supporting the preparation of summaries, thematic reports, and briefing materials
  • Drafting legal documentation including Rule 8 requests and Section 21 notices

About You:

To be successful, you will:

  • Be a qualified Solicitor in Scotland with 5+ years’ PQE
  • Have a background in litigation or large-scale project work (medical negligence experience advantageous)
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage high volumes of complex information
  • Be adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working as part of a small, dynamic team

Working Arrangements/Info:

  • Based in central Edinburgh (Waverley Gate)
  • Minimum of three days per week in the office
  • Contract length up to 23 months
  • Some travel may be required (primarily Dundee/Tayside)
  • Salary: £62,111 – Ltd day rate: £326.04 – PAYE (INC) £276.66
