Asset Disposals Senior Surveyor – Local Authority, Essex Area £560 per day Umbrella LTD / £416 PAYE 37 hours per week 3–6 month contract We are currently recruiting for an experienced Asset Disposals Senior Surveyor to join a dedicated Asset Disposals Team within a Local Authority in the Thurrock area. This position plays a key role in supporting the Improvement and Recovery Plan through the strategic disposal of council-owned assets. Responsibilities: Lead on the disposal of surplus land and property assets in line with corporate objectives. Provide professional property advice and valuations to support disposal decisions. Manage the marketing, negotiation, and sale process to maximise capital receipts. Liaise with internal departments, external agencies, and legal advisors to ensure smooth completion of disposals. Contribute to the wider Improvement and Recovery Plan, supporting organisational efficiency and financial recovery.Requirements: Professional background as a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS or equivalent). Demonstrable experience in property disposals, asset management, or estate management. Strong knowledge of valuation, negotiation, and land/property law within a public sector context. Ability to manage a varied workload with competing deadlines.
