The Role:
On behalf of Action for Children, we at Service Care Solutions are looking for an experienced Registered Manager to lead their Squirrels residential home. You will be responsible for setting the values, principles, and ethos of the home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and person-centred care in line with Ofsted standards, CQC regulations, and Action for Children policies.
As Registered Manager, you will:
- Lead and manage all aspects of the home, creating a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for children, young people, and staff.
- Provide supervision, support, and professional development for your team to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Monitor performance and outcomes to ensure continuous improvement and positive results for children.
- Manage resources effectively, including a delegated budget, ensuring sustainable and responsive service delivery.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, commissioners, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Lead safeguarding and compliance practices, ensuring all policies and procedures are consistently applied.
- Participate in on-call arrangements and provide flexible support as required.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent Level 5 qualification as per DfE Guide to Children’s Homes Regulations, 2015).
- Demonstrable experience of managing and motivating staff teams, leading by example to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Knowledge of CQC regulations and Ofsted requirements, with experience maintaining compliance.
- Experience working with children and young people with complex needs, including profound learning and physical disabilities.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience managing budgets, resources, and operational performance.
- A flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to participate in on-call rotas.
- A full, valid driving licence.
