Location: West Northamptonshire Council

Salary: £21 Umb Per hour (£17 PAYE)

Contract length: 4 Months initially

Are you detail-oriented, organised, and passionate about helping vulnerable adults? We are working on behalf of West Northamptonshire Council and looking for a Financial Assessment Officer to join their Adult Social Care team. This is a dynamic role, combining financial expertise, customer service, and collaboration with social care colleagues to support adults in residential and community care settings.

What You’ll Do

  • Carry out financial assessments and reassessments for adults receiving care, ensuring compliance with the Care Act 2014 and council policy.
  • Provide advice and assistance on welfare benefits to maximise income for service users and the Council.
  • Work closely with social workers, hospital staff, and service users, often in pressured or sensitive environments.
  • Identify, escalate, and respond to safeguarding concerns where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes in financial and care systems.
  • Support service improvements, including new systems, process changes, and staff training.
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to a customer-focused, high-performing team.
