- Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a
Quantity Surveyor to join a Housing Client in the North East, supporting the commercial management and delivery of planned investment and asset programmes across their housing stock.
This is a client-side Quantity Surveying role , working closely with the Commercial/Programme Manager and wider Asset & Property team to ensure effective financial control, contract administration and value for money across construction programmes.
The Role
- Manage day-to-day Quantity Surveying and contract administration duties across planned investment and asset programmes.
- Undertake valuations, variations, payment certification and final account processes.
- Support procurement and tendering, including preparation and review of tender documentation and pricing schedules.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, cashflow and contractor performance.
- Attend site regularly to inspect works, assess progress and monitor commercial performance.
- Assist with developing scopes of work and schedules of works.
- Identify and manage commercial and operational risks.
- Work closely with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered effectively.
- Attend pre-start, progress and partnership meetings, providing commercial advice and support.
- Analyse financial and asset/stock condition information to support investment decisions.
- Contribute to improving commercial processes and systems across the Asset & Property function.
About You
- Relevant Quantity Surveying degree, Chartered status or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction sector.
- Strong experience across contract administration, procurement, valuations, variations, final accounts and cost control .
- Experience managing significant construction budgets and monitoring commercial performance.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with contractors and wider construction professionals.
Social housing, residential, planned maintenance or refurbishment experience would be highly beneficial.
- Previous client-side Quantity Surveying experience is desirable , although candidates from strong contractor or consultancy backgrounds will also be considered.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
