An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and customer-focused Environments Contracts Officer to join a busy Environmental Contracts team in Ashford, supporting the delivery of key environmental and community services across the borough.
THE ROLE
The Environments Contracts Officer will support the delivery of environmental operations and contract services, ensuring a high-quality and responsive service is provided to residents, contractors and community stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing service requests relating to waste, recycling, street cleansing, cemeteries, allotments and garages
- Liaising with contractors and internal departments to ensure effective service delivery
- Maintaining accurate digital records and updating internal systems
- Supporting financial administration processes including invoices and contract monitoring
- Assisting with environmental projects and community engagement initiatives
- Managing garage and allotment tenancy administration
- Supporting cemetery services, public health funerals and community recycling or litter-picking campaigns
THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have previous experience working within a similar environmental, housing, local authority or contract administration role, with strong customer service and organisational skills.
Additional requirements include:
- Experience dealing with members of the public and handling sensitive enquiries
- Strong administrative and IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams
- Ability to manage workloads independently and prioritise effectively
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Experience within waste, recycling, environmental services or local government is desirable
THE CONTRACT
WORKING HOURS: Full Time – office based
LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 3 Month Contract
RATE: The pay for the role is £21.47 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £18.30 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
