Children’s Social Worker – Child Protection and Safeguarding

Warwickshire County Council

Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Children’s Social Worker to work for our client within Warwickshire Local Authority. This is a temporary ongoing contract, initially for 3 months, with hybrid working available.

Working Arrangement:

  • Hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office, 2 days per week working from home

Team: Child Protection and Safeguarding Team

Pay Rates:

  • £37.00 per hour Umbrella
  • £32.53 per hour PAYE inclusive
  • £29.03 per hour PAYE exclusive

Job Specification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake statutory social work duties in line with the Children Act 1989 and 2004
  • Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need plans, and care proceedings
  • Complete statutory assessments, interventions, and reviews to promote positive outcomes for children
  • Carry out clear, analytical assessments of risk and need
  • Prepare high quality reports for court, child protection conferences, and reviews
  • Work collaboratively with families, partner agencies, and professionals to safeguard children
  • Attend and contribute to core groups, strategy meetings, reviews, and court proceedings
  • Maintain accurate, timely case records in line with local authority and statutory requirements

Requirements:

  • Social Work qualification Degree, DipSW or equivalent
  • Social Work England registration
  • Recent experience working within Child Protection and Safeguarding teams
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and thresholds
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and report writing skills
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
