Job Description
- Undertake holistic assessments of children referred for OOCDs using the Prevention and Diversion Assessment Tool (PDAT).
- Deliver evidence-based, trauma-informed, and outcome-focused interventions that are child-centred and promote desistance.
- Participate in the Out of Court Disposal Panel (OOCD), Moving Forward planning meetings, and other multi-agency forums as required.
- Work collaboratively with statutory and voluntary partners to ensure coordinated and effective wraparound support.
- Maintain accurate, reflective, and timely case records in line with inspection and quality assurance standards.
- Contribute to wider YJS duties, including participation in rota-based responsibilities, according to service needs.
- Experience working with children and young people involved in or at risk of offending.
- Sound understanding of youth justice legislation, policy, and practice – particularly relating to Out of Court Disposals.
- Experience of completing assessments and delivering targeted interventions.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and the Child First principle.
- Strong partnership working skills, with the ability to engage families, professionals, and external agencies.
- Good written and verbal communication, including case recording and report writing.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Youth Justice, Social Work, Probation, Education, Psychology, or related field).
- Previous experience of working within a Youth Justice Service or similar statutory setting.
- Enhanced DBS check required.
- Flexibility to travel locally for meetings, interventions, and assessments.
