We are looking for an experienced, child-centred Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding Team. Working in a supportive, multi-disciplinary environment, you will hold a varied caseload of Children in Need (CiN), Child Protection (CP) and Children in Care (CIC) cases. With hybrid working, modern IT and regular supervision, you will have the tools and flexibility to deliver high-quality, relational practice that keeps children safe and families together whenever possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete statutory home visits for CiN, CP and CIC cases, recording outcomes promptly.
  • Chair CiN and Core Group meetings; prepare and present clear conference reports.
  • Manage cases within PLO and s31 care proceedings, producing court reports, risk and parenting assessments, and attending hearings with senior support.
  • Contribute to the duty rota, responding to immediate safeguarding concerns.
  • Attend Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences (ICPC/RCPC) and multi-agency forums.
  • Continually assess and manage risk using strengths-based Family Safeguarding tools and interventions.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker (BA/MA/DipSW) with Social Work England registration.
  • Proven experience in statutory children’s social care, including CiN, CP and court work.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and the Family Safeguarding model.
  • Strong assessment, report-writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with children, families and partner agencies.
  • Commitment to reflective practice, equality and professional development.
