About the Role

Deputy Nursery Manager

Term Time Only | Full Time | Level 3+ Early Years

Location: Wolvercote, Oxford, OX2 8AB

Hours: 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, term time only

Contract: 5 January 2026 to 12 July 2026

Pay: £130 to £140 per day

Key Responsibilities

  • Nursery Practice: Plan and deliver age appropriate activities; Support children through play, learning and daily routines; Provide consistent pastoral care.
  • Safeguarding: Follow all safeguarding procedures; Maintain accurate and timely reporting.
  • Key Worker Duties: Lead on observations and learning journeys; Track developmental progress; Communicate effectively with parents and carers.
  • Team Support: Work collaboratively with staff and maintain ratios; Assist the Nursery Manager with planning and daily operations.
  • Deputy Responsibilities: Support administrative tasks, data collection and assessments; Help maintain quality and compliance across the setting.

Requirements

  • Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
  • Minimum one year experience in a nursery or early years setting
