Oldham Council is seeking a committed and compassionate Family Support Worker (Profile B) to support children, young people and families where there are identified safeguarding concerns. This is a frontline role working directly with families where children are subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need Plans and/or are Looked After by the Local Authority. You will work closely with Social Workers and partner agencies to help improve outcomes for children and promote their safety, wellbeing and development.

The Role

As a Family Support Worker, you will:

• Work directly with children, young people and families, delivering practical support, advice and guidance in family homes and community settings
• Contribute to and implement individual care and support plans alongside parents, carers, social workers and partner agencies
• Carry out welfare visits, observations and assessments, recording progress accurately and professionally
• Support and supervise family time/contact sessions, ensuring children are safely conveyed to and from venues
• Maintain accurate case records and provide written and verbal contributions to multi-agency meetings, Child in Need reviews, Child Protection conference…
