About the Role
Working on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council, we are seeking an experienced and committed Advanced Social Work Practitioner to join their dynamic team. You will play a pivotal role in supporting children and young people with complex and challenging needs, providing high-quality social work practice, and leading the professional development of colleagues within the service. This role involves working closely with the Team Manager to ensure the delivery of excellent outcomes for children, young people, and their families, in line with statutory guidance, legislation, and local policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a protected caseload of up to 8 children and young people with complex needs, risks, and circumstances.
- Provide supervision, mentoring, and professional guidance to Trainee Social Workers and Newly Qualified Social Workers (ASYE).
- Lead quality assurance activities, case file audits, and performance monitoring to drive continuous improvement across the team.
- Undertake direct work with children, young people, parents, and families to assess needs, manage risk, and deliver improved outcomes.
- Promote a culture of professional curiosity, reflective practice, and evidence-based decision-making within the team.
- Chair and attend professional meetings, including in the Court arena when required.
- Ensure compliance with Social Work England professional standards, statutory guidance, and local policies.
