We are currently recruiting for a Team Lead – SEND Operations (Appeals) to join a local authority team in Exeter. This is a key interim role supporting the delivery of statutory SEND services and ongoing improvement work. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading officers working on SENDIST Appeals within the SEND Operations team. You will report directly to the Head of SEND Operations, with EHCP Partners reporting into you. This is a demanding role requiring strong SEND knowledge and proven experience working within tribunal processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support officers managing SENDIST Appeals
- Provide oversight and direction to EHCP Partners
- Work closely with the Head of SEND Operations
- Contribute to the local authority’s SEND improvement programme
- Ensure effective statutory responses for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Requirements
- Strong experience working within SEND services
- Proven experience managing or working on SENDIST Appeals
- Experience within a local authority SEND team
- Leadership or supervisory experience
