Locum Social Worker – Children’s Duty & Assessment Team

Are you an experienced Children’s Social Worker looking for your next locum role in a dynamic high-performing team? Bradford Children’s Services is seeking skilled professionals to join their Duty & Assessment Team – where your expertise will help safeguard and improve the lives of children and families across the district. The nature of work within the Duty Service is fast-paced and varied.

Key responsibilities
  • Completing timely and robust assessments under the Single Assessment Framework
  • Managing a caseload with varying levels of complexity
  • Engaging with children, families and partner agencies to identify needs and ensure safety
  • Making clear and effective decisions on intervention and next steps
  • Preparing and presenting reports for ICPCs, CLA Reviews, PLO meetings and CIN meetings
Case transfer points
  • Initial Child Protection Case Conference (ICPC)
  • First Child Looked After (CLA) Review
  • First Public Law Outline (PLO) Meeting
  • Third Child in Need (CIN) Meeting

The Duty Service does not hold cases long-term. Following your assessment and intervention period, outcomes will determine which long-term team the family transitions to which ensures continuity and appropriate support.
