Position – Waste HGV Driver – Temporary

Location – Exeter, Devon

Hours – 37 per week

Pay – £16.08 per hour (PAYE inc Holiday) | £21.53 per hour (LTD umbrella)

About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Waste Driver/Loader (HGV) to join a reputable client on a temporary contract basis. If you have a valid HGV license and a proactive approach to your work, this could be the perfect role for you! As a HGV Waste Driver/Loader, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while assisting with loading and unloading as needed. Candidate Responsibilities

  • Drive HGV vehicles: Safely operate heavy goods vehicles for refuse and recycling collections.
  • Operate collection equipment: Use both automatic and manual equipment to empty bins and load waste onto the vehicle.
  • Collect waste: Empty and move wheeled bins, sacks, and bulky items from properties in all weather conditions.
  • Sort and load recyclables: Collect, sort, and load materials like glass, paper, cans, and textiles.
  • Supervise crew: Provide direction and supervision to a small team of loaders or other drivers during duties.
  • Follow routes efficiently and adapt to any unforeseen conditions.

Candidate Requirements

  • Valid HGV license (Cat C or above)
  • Proven experience as an HGV driver with loader duties
  • Good understanding of road safety and traffic regulations
  • Ability to handle manual loading/unloading tasks
