Service Care Solutions are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Locum Practice Nurse to join our established General Practice team on a part‑time locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a competent Practice Nurse who is confident managing a broad range of treatment room and chronic disease services within a busy primary care environment.
Position Details
- Role: Locum Practice Nurse
- Location: Stanmore, HA7
- Working Pattern: 3 days per week (Monday to Friday – flexible days)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Rate: £35.00 p.h LTD / £31 p.h PAYE Inclusive
- Clinical System: EMIS Web
The Role
Working as part of a multidisciplinary primary care team, you will provide high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care to patients while supporting the delivery of core General Practice services. You will be expected to work autonomously within your scope of practice and contribute to the ongoing delivery of safe and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Cervical cytology (smear tests)
- Wound assessment, management and dressings
- Removal of sutures and clips
- Routine adult and childhood immunisations
- Administration of injectable medications, including Vitamin B12, Goserelin, Inclisiran
- Urinalysis
- NHS Health Checks
- Travel health assessments, advice and vaccinations
- Management and monitoring of long‑term conditions, including Asthma, COPD, Hypertension (including 24‑hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring), Diabetes
- Phlebotomy
- ECG recording
Essential Requirements
- Hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Have previous experience working as a Practice Nurse within UK General Practice
- Be proficient in the use of EMIS Web
- Be confident managing a treatment room independently
- Demonstrate excellent clinical, organisational and communication skills
- Be committed to delivering high standards of patient‑centred care
