We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our Homeless Intervention Team, Care Leavers service. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting 16 and 17 year old young people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless within the next 56 days.
Job Summary:
As a Senior Social Worker (Children\’s) CAP, you will work closely with young people, their families, and partner agencies to provide high-quality support and guidance. Your primary focus will be on assessing the needs of young people, developing plans to prevent homelessness, and providing specialist support to help them achieve positive outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the needs of young people and develop plans to prevent homelessness
- Provide specialist support to help young people develop independent living skills
- Work closely with young people, their families, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes
- Conduct assessments, investigations, and child protection work as required
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, their families, and partner agencies
- Provide guidance and support to Social Workers and Family Support Workers
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve service delivery

Key Attributes/Qualifications:
- Significant experience of work with children and families
- Significant post-qualifying experience as a Social Worker
- Experience of working with children and families
- Experience of work with abused or vulnerable children and their families
- Experience in undertaking child abuse investigations and assessments
- Specialist knowledge of theories and practice relating to Social Work to achieve successful outcomes for children and families
- Detailed knowledge of current legislation relating to children and families
- Detailed knowledge of child development
- Good inter-personal skills and the ability to relate to a wide range of people
- Good IT skills
- Assessment skills relating to work with children and families including complex family situations
- Liaison and negotiation skills with other agencies and service users
