Schools Accountant Location: London Contract: Temporary (6-month initial) Rate: £300.00 per day umbrella | £264.18 per day PAYE inclusive | £235.73 per day PAYE exclusive Start Date: ASAP Hybrid Working Contact: greg.waite@servicecare.org.uk Job Description Service Care Solutions is currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in London for a Schools Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis. The Schools Accountant will support a range of schools based on the individual support purchased. The role is focused purely on financial responsibilities, distinct from typical SBM duties. Main Responsibilities Transactional support – payments, month-end reconciliation, VAT submission Strategic support – analysis of budgets and expenditure, including reporting to Governing Bodies and headteachers Supporting schools in developing Deficit Recovery Plans Implementing new finance systems and providing related training Candidate Criteria CCAB/CIMA Qualified or Part-Qualified preferred Strong knowledge of Schools Funding and ability to engage with Heads and Governors Experience in Schools Accounting within a Local Authority is highly desirable Awareness of national policies affecting school funding Excellent communication skills; able to work independently and as part of a team If interested or to refer someone, contact Greg at Service Care Solutions on 01772 208969 or email greg.waite@servicecare.org.uk.
