Private Rented Sector Access Officer
Location: Doncaster
Rate: £19.28 LTD per hour
Full-time | Temporary Contract
I’m currently working on behalf of a local authority client in Doncaster to recruit for a Private Rented Sector Access Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy Housing Options team and play a key role in helping prevent homelessness by securing and sustaining private rented sector accommodation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with private landlords and letting agents to source accommodation for households at risk of homelessness
- Offer landlord incentives and ensure properties meet safety and quality standards
- Support clients to move into and sustain tenancies in the private rented sector
- Deliver advice and assistance in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act
- Liaise with internal teams and external partners including Social Services, DWP, and voluntary agencies
- Maintain accurate records, update systems, and provide performance data as required
Requirements:
- Experience working in housing or homelessness services, ideally with private sector access
- Strong understanding of tenancy sustainment and the challenges in the private rented market
- Confident engaging with landlords and vulnerable clients
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
- Excellent communication and partnership working skills
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable
