Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Hampshire for a Payments Officer to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will be responsible for validating payment schedules and electronic invoices, and work closely with Social Care staff and external care providers to investigate and resolve discrepancies, while also supporting the analysis of expenditure and activity trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate payment schedules and electronic invoices received from care providers, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between planned care and actual service delivery by liaising with internal teams and external providers.
- Monitor and analyse monthly activity and expenditure data, producing accurate information to support financial processes.
- Maintain financial records and ensure payments are finalised within agreed contractual timescales.
Candidate Criteria
- Previous experience within a finance, accounts payable, invoicing, or purchase order environment would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate work and manage data with minimal errors.
- Confident IT user with good working knowledge of Excel, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
