About the Role
Service Care Solutions is currently recruiting Permanent Children's Social Workers to join Oldham Council’s Social Work Services.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced and passionate social workers to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.
You will join a committed team focused on delivering high-quality, child-centred practice, supported by strong management oversight and a collaborative working environment.
The role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of safeguarding and statutory responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on improving outcomes for vulnerable children.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting Duty and Assessment investigations.
- Managing Child in Need (CIN) cases.
- Participating in Strategy Discussions and Meetings.
- Undertaking Section 47 Child Protection Enquiries.
- Engaging in Pre-Proceedings and Public Law Outline (PLO) work.
- Developing and reviewing Child Protection Plans.
- Managing Children Looked After (CLA) cases, including Care Planning and Permanence Planning.
- Undertaking court work and Care Proceedings.
- Managing complex safeguarding cases and statutory interventions.
- Completing high-quality assessments, care plans and interventions.
- Working collaboratively with partner agencies to support children and families.
- Maintaining accurate and timely case documentation.
- Upholding statutory responsibilities and safeguarding procedures.
- Candidate Requirements
- A recognised Social Work qualification.
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Extensive post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care.
- Strong knowledge of children's legislation and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience working across Child Protection, CIN and CLA cases.
- Experience of court-related work and statutory interventions.
- A commitment to relationship-based and strengths-focused practice.
- The ability to manage complex cases and work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
