Service Care Solutions are proud to be recruiting on behalf of Oldham Council for a Permanent Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join their dedicated Adults' Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and warranted AMHP looking to progress their career within a supportive local authority that is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred mental health services.
Key responsibilities
- Undertaking Mental Health Act assessments and exercising statutory AMHP responsibilities.
- Coordinating complex assessments with health professionals, police, ambulance services and partner agencies.
- Making evidence-based decisions regarding detention, guardianship and community alternatives.
- Promoting recovery-focused, person-centred practice while safeguarding vulnerable adults.
- Preparing clear, accurate reports and maintaining high-quality case records.
- Participating in the AMHP duty rota and contributing to service development.
About You
- Current warranted Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status β essential.
- Social Work England registration.
- Experience working within Adult Mental Health Services.
- Strong working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Care Act.
- Excellent assessment, communication and decision-making skills.
- The ability to work effectively within a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
