We are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the dedicated Older Adult Inpatient Mental Health Team based on Willow Ward at Woodlands, Ipswich. This role forms part of a supportive and multidisciplinary Allied Health Professionals (AHP) team, providing crucial care to older adults with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient-centered occupational therapy interventions for older adults in an inpatient mental health setting.
- Conduct comprehensive functional assessments and contribute to care planning and discharge processes.
- Work collaboratively with the wider MDT, including nursing, medical, psychology, and social care staff.
- Develop and implement treatment plans to enhance functional independence and quality of life.
- Contribute to safeguarding processes and mental health care reviews.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and legal standards.
Requirements:
- HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
- Proven experience working in a mental health setting, preferably with older adults.
- Strong communication, assessment, and care planning skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of relevant mental health legislation and safeguarding procedures.
