Overview

Family Help Worker – Nottingham (Nottingham City Council) | Contract (2 weeks, ongoing likely). Service Care Solutions is recruiting a Family Help Worker to support Nottingham City Council. This is an Early Help role where you’ll work with families to improve outcomes for children aged 0–19. Please note: this role requires a Social Work qualification, however, it is NOT a Social Worker position. Newly qualified Social Workers are welcome to apply.

Contract details

  • Employment type: Contract
  • Contract length: 2 weeks (with 3-month ongoing planned/likely extension)
  • Rate: £27.00 per hour (Umbrella) / £20.17 PAYE
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (core hours 08:30–16:50, flexibility required)
  • Location: Nottingham City Council (family homes, schools, hubs, community settings)
  • DBS: Enhanced DBS required
  • Driving: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle required

Responsibilities

  • Completing Early Help Assessments and developing multi-agency action plans using the Signs of Safety framework
  • Acting as Lead Professional and coordinating/chairing Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings
  • Delivering child-centred interventions for children aged 0–19 and their families
  • Working alongside Social Work Lead Professionals on Child in Need and Child Protection Plans
  • Promoting trauma-informed, relational practice throughout your work
  • Supporting families to build resilience and reduce reliance on services
  • Maintaining accurate, up-to-date case records in line with Nottingham City Council standards
  • Collaborating with partner agencies and contributing to service improvement
