The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 £ per year.

Location: Milton Keynes (Hybrid / Remote with 1 day per week in the office).

Hours: 37 hours per week (standard full-time unless specified otherwise).

Pay rate: £28.63 limited per hour (Umbrella pay rate) or £20.30 per hour PAYE rate.

We are seeking a qualified Probation Officer to support the South Central Probation Service based in Milton Keynes. This is a contract assignment offering an excellent opportunity to work within a flexible, remote-working environment while providing essential support to the service. The ideal candidate will thrive in remote case management and virtual assessments.

Depending on the role, work may include:

  • Conducting ISP (Intensive Supervision and Monitoring) assessments and reports
  • Preparing and supporting Parole Reports in collaboration with SPOs
  • Managing case files remotely, ensuring compliance with all probation protocols
  • Visiting the office once a week to support cover duties and team meetings
  • Handling other tasks as directed by Supervising Probation Officers (SPOs)
  • Supporting offenders and ensuring public safety through effective supervision

The job holder is expected to accept reasonable alterations and additional tasks of a similar level that may be necessary.

Essential Requirements

  • Possession of a recognized Probation Qualification Framework Graduate Diploma/Honours Degree in Community Justice (or equivalent recognized qualification).
  • Proven experience as a Probation Officer, specifically covering ISPs and Parole Reports.
  • Experience and knowledge of using probation service computer-based systems to manage caseloads and complete assessments.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote capacity with the ability to travel to the Milton Keynes office once a week.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to ensure compliance with all probation service standards.
