Responsibilities:
- Carry out day-to-day maintenance inspections and caretaking duties across multiple properties.
- Complete minor repairs and maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
- Assist colleagues and external contractors with larger repair projects and void property works.
- Supervise external contractors when required and conduct post-completion inspections.
- Order and collect repair materials and maintenance supplies as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and daily timesheets.
- Identify and report any dangerous or emergency maintenance issues immediately.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and organisational policies.
- Attend training courses and meetings as required.
- Work across various sites and properties as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or similar role.
- Experience carrying out general building maintenance and minor repairs.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Basic computer literacy and record-keeping abilities.
- Understanding of building maintenance, fault finding, and diagnostics.
- Ability to work safely from ladders and undertake physically demanding tasks.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience supervising contractors and inspecting completed works is desirable.
- Experience working within supported housing, homelessness services, or similar environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
