Service Care Legal are working with a London Borough Council who are seeking either an experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal or a Junior Lawyer (1–2 years PQE) to join a busy Planning and Highways team.

Rate: Up to £30ph umbrella / £26.94ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £24.04ph PAYE exc. holiday pay.

Location: South London.

Contract: Initial 4 months with possibility of extension. Please note that this role requires office attendance 1 day per week.

Role Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload of planning and highways matters
  • Drafting and negotiating Section 106 and Section 278 Agreements
  • Preparing and issuing planning enforcement notices relating to breaches of planning control
  • Drafting Tree Preservation Orders and Section 215 Amenity Notices

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in one role undertaking planning and/or highways work
  • Either a qualified Solicitor or experienced planning law paralegal within local authority
  • Experience drafting legal documents and agreements
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied caseload
