Service Care Legal are currently recruiting for a Locum Lawyer to join a South East London Council's Legal Services team on a temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or junior Lawyer with experience in local government, litigation or prosecutions to join a supportive team and take on a varied caseload.

Locum Lawyer – Litigation & Prosecutions

£40ph umbrella / £35.72ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £31.88ph PAYE exc. holiday pay

CONTRACT

6 months, 36 hours per week

Please note that this role would be 2 days working from home per week.

The Role

  • Handle a varied caseload of straightforward legal matters, providing advice, drafting, negotiation and advocacy.
  • Manage litigation and prosecution work, including Education Prosecution cases.
  • Conduct court advocacy and prepare legal documentation for proceedings.

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX Lawyer with a current Practising Certificate.
  • Litigation practice rights and relevant experience in litigation/prosecutions.
  • Knowledge of local government, administrative law and court procedure. Able to manage a varied caseload, prioritise competing deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
