Estate Manager – West London
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and supervise a team of caretakers, ensuring high standards of service delivery across multiple estates.
- Organise staff rotas and allocate work to maintain effective service coverage, including weekends.
- Conduct performance management, one-to-one meetings and support staff development and training.
- Monitor team performance and maintain accurate records relating to bulk refuse collections, minor repairs and special projects.
- Produce reports and provide information to support management enquiries, complaints and resident correspondence.
- Ensure Health & Safety legislation is adhered to, promoting safe working practices across the team.
- Order, manage and monitor equipment, materials and PPE.
- Carry out hands-on duties including bulk refuse collection and disposal, minor repairs to communal areas, deep cleaning using pressure washers and floor scrubbers, relief caretaking across various estates, seasonal duties such as leaf clearance and gritting.
- Drive and operate tipper vans, fleet vehicles and specialist cleaning equipment.
- Respond to emergency cleaning requests and support wider estate services operations where required.
- Build positive working relationships with residents, colleagues and contractors while delivering excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Previous experience managing or supervising estate services, caretaking or cleaning teams.
- Experience delivering estate cleaning, caretaking or facilities services.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work.
- Experience carrying out minor repairs and estate maintenance.
- Ability to operate specialist cleaning machinery or willingness to undertake training.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Confidence managing staff performance and workloads.
- Ability to undertake manual handling duties and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
- A full, clean UK driving license, with the ability to drive tipper vans and fleet vehicles.
