We're recruiting for a Criminal Justice IDVA to join a well-established domestic abuse charity's VAWG service in Hammersmith. This is a varied, meaningful role for an experienced IDVA or domestic abuse practitioner looking to develop their criminal justice specialism. You'll be embedded within the police community safety unit, attending the Specialist Domestic Violence Court in Westminster and acting as the domestic abuse subject matter expert on site β upskilling police professionals and supporting survivors at every stage of the CJ process.
Responsibilities:
- Crisis intervention, risk assessment and safety planning with survivors aged 18
- Supporting women through the criminal justice process including special measures and impact statements
- Attending the weekly Specialist Domestic Violence Court alongside the specialist prosecutor
- MARAC referrals and multi-agency coordination
- Upskilling police professionals around trauma informed practice and DA dynamics
Qualifications:
- A relevant qualification in domestic violence, criminal justice, social work or related field
- Strong understanding of domestic abuse dynamics and the criminal justice system
- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and procedures
- Experience in or alongside criminal justice agencies is desirable but not essential
