Continuous Improvement Lead – Hybrid any MOJ site across UK. Ad hoc travel to meetings in London occasionally. Contract: 12 month contract. Hours: 37 h per week, Monday to Friday. Pay: £515 Umbrella per day.

About the Role

The Continuous Improvement Lead will support the development, coordination and implementation of commercial policy, guidance and improvement activity across a complex public sector delivery environment. The role will focus on driving consistency, enabling collaboration and supporting delivery improvement through structured policy development, supplier and stakeholder forums, and practical guidance outputs. The successful candidate will work closely with commercial teams, relationship managers, suppliers and senior stakeholders to identify challenges, shape solutions and embed best practice. This role requires strong commercial policy capability alongside experience within construction, NEC and infrastructure‑related commercial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support the development and maintenance of commercial policy, guidance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and prioritise a policy development pipeline informed by stakeholder insight, SRM activity and stakeholder mapping outputs.
  • Coordinate policy and guidance activity end‑to‑end, including issue identification, drafting, governance approvals and dissemination.
  • Translate complex commercial and operational issues into clear, practical and accessible guidance for internal teams and suppliers.
  • Support consistency of application across commercial and supplier delivery environments.
  • Design, coordinate and facilitate forums, working groups and communities of practice involving internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Shape agendas to ensure discussions remain outcome‑focused and aligned to improvement priorities.
  • Capture actions, themes and improvement opportunities arising from engagement activity.
  • Build effective working relationships with senior officials, practitioners, commercial colleagues and suppliers.
  • Work collaboratively alongside relationship managers and policy owners to support delivery outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement across commercial delivery and supplier engagement activity.
  • Contribute to the development of standards, governance approaches and best practice sharing.
  • Support assurance and governance activities within a public sector commercial environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience leading or supporting continuous improvement, change, policy development or business improvement activity within a complex organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience working within government or wider public sector environments, with a strong understanding of policy cycles, governance and assurance.
  • Commercial policy experience within construction, infrastructure or project‑based delivery environments.
  • NEC contract knowledge and/or commercial construction experience.
  • Experience coordinating input from multiple stakeholders to develop coherent policy, guidance or standards.
  • Ability to work across competing priorities while maintaining quality and delivery focus.
