Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for ex-police officers to work as CID Case Officers to work on a full-time, long-term contract across Lincolnshire.
The role is paying £20.76p per hour (Umbrella).
Job purpose: To support investigating officers within the CID team by gathering evidence (particularly digital, audio, and visual evidence), obtaining third party material, and preparing, developing, and submitting case files for PIP1 and PIP2 investigations.
Duties
- Build, update and manage case files using police systems/case management platforms, ensuring accurate records and secure handling of information.
- Gather and review evidential material (including digital/audio/visual) and obtain third-party material for inclusion within case files.
- Prepare and submit initial CPS files and complete file upgrades for trial, ensuring documentation, exhibits and summaries meet required standards and timescales.
- Support post-charge action plans by completing CPS-directed tasks within agreed timescales (including monitoring video interviews when trained).
- Maintain continuity of exhibits and comply with PACE requirements and local procedures.
- Act as Disclosure Officer when required, managing unused material in line with CPIA obligations.
- Liaise with internal teams, other forces and partner agencies to progress enquiries; attend court to support case progression when required.
Experience/Skills
- Knowledge of police systems and procedures
- Competent with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and confident using IT systems
- Experience handling confidential/sensitive information
- Criminal investigation experience
- Logical problem-solving and lateral thinking
- Clear written and verbal communication (avoiding jargon)
- Able to demonstrate the values and behaviours outlined in the Force values
- Able to build effective working relationships internally and with external agencies
