We're recruiting for Senior Residential Support Workers / Team Leaders to join established children's residential services across the North West.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional who is ready to take on greater responsibility, lead by example and play a key role in supporting both young people and the wider care team.

The Role As a Senior / Team Leader, you'll be a key part of the home's leadership structure, supporting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to ensure young people receive safe, consistent and high-quality care.

You'll be expected to lead by example, support colleagues and help create an environment where young people feel safe, valued and able to develop.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Leading and supporting the residential team during shifts.
  • Acting as a positive role model for both staff and young people.
  • Building strong and trusting relationships with children and young people.
  • Supporting young people with emotional, behavioural and social needs.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and managing challenging situations appropriately.
  • Supporting care plans, risk assessments and placement plans.
  • Maintaining accurate records and daily documentation.
  • Supporting safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Assisting with the induction, mentoring and development of staff.
  • Working closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager.
  • Helping to maintain high standards of care, compliance and practice.
  • Taking responsibility for the home and team when required.

About You

We're looking for someone with genuine experience and passion for children's residential care.

Ideally, you will have

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in a residential setting.
  • Experience supporting young people with challenging or complex behaviours.
  • Previous Senior Support Worker or Team Leader experience.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • The confidence to lead and support colleagues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, consistent and resilient approach.
  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
  • A relevant Level 3 qualification in Children's Residential Care , or willingness to work towards one.
  • The Package
  • £60 per sleep-in
  • Typically 10 sleep-ins per month
  • Circa £38,028 per annum
