Are you passionate about making a positive impact on families and supporting vulnerable children and adults? We are currently seeking a dedicated Family Service Worker to join Cheshire East Council on a contract basis offering a pay rate of £15.84ph. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a project family time team, supervising and supporting families who have recently been removed and are subject to court proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising family visits within a court-ordered framework
  • Supporting families to maintain positive contact during challenging circumstances
  • Completing detailed assessments of family interactions and progress
  • Collaborating with legal teams, social workers, and court personnel
  • Maintaining accurate case records in line with organisational policies
  • Engaging with families in a sensitive, non-judgmental manner to foster trust
  • Ensuring compliance with all safeguarding and confidentiality protocols
  • Providing guidance and support to families to facilitate positive outcomes

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in child and family support services or social work
  • A recognised DBS check
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
  • Knowledge of court procedures and safeguarding policies
  • Relevant qualifications in social work, children and families services, or equivalency
