A Local Authority in the East of England is seeking an experienced Resolution & Tribunal Officer to support SEND appeals and dispute resolution on an interim basis. This key role focuses on managing tribunal processes, facilitating resolution, and representing the authority in legal proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Manage and oversee SEND appeals to the First-tier Tribunal, ensuring timely and compliant responses.
  • Mediation Coordination: Arrange and facilitate mediation to resolve disputes wherever possible.
  • Representation: Represent the Local Authority at tribunal hearings.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with parents, carers, young people, legal teams, advocates, and educational settings.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, detailed case records and documentation.

About You

  • Strong experience handling SEND tribunal cases and appeals.
  • Confident understanding of SEND legislation and tribunal processes.
  • Proven ability to manage complex casework and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience representing a Local Authority in hearings (desirable).

Working Arrangements

  • Hybrid working – ideally 1 day per week in the office. Fully remote may be considered for the right candidate.

  • Rate: £380 per day (Umbrella).
  • Contract: 3 months initially.
  • Hours: 37 per week.
