Service Care Solutions is working in partnership with a growing local authority, based in Berkshire, which is looking to recruit an experienced Information Governance Lawyer to join its Legal & Information Governance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced non-qualified or qualified legal professional with strong information governance expertise to join a forward-thinking local authority.
Role: Information Governance Lawyer
Location: Wokingham / Hybrid
Umbrella Rate: £35 - £60 per (experienced paralegal to qualified solicitor)
PAYE Inc. Rate: £30.57 - £52.30
Key responsibilities:
- Providing expert Information Governance and legal advice to senior leaders, officers and members on complex, high-risk and sensitive matters.
- Independently managing a varied caseload, advising on legal and policy developments, governance matters, committees and reports, while maintaining high professional standards.
- Supporting service improvement, staff development and cross-team collaboration, including coaching colleagues and deputising for senior legal leaders when required.
Key Requirements:
- Be a qualified Solicitor; experienced Information Governance Officer (minimum 5 years’ recent experience); unqualified Lawyer/Legal Executive (CILEX); or senior Paralegal with strong Information Governance experience.
- Strong recent experience in Information Governance law within a public sector setting.
- A sound understanding of the legislative, regulatory and financial framework.
