Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Options Team Leader to join a busy Homelessness Service on a temporary basis for an initial 12 week contract. This is a key frontline leadership role covering the front-facing homelessness service, managing operational delivery whilst supporting officers and advisers with complex casework.
The role is full-time and will require attendance in the office up to 3 days per week based in Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support a frontline Housing Options and Homelessness team
- Provide operational oversight across homelessness prevention and relief services
- Support officers and advisers with complex homelessness casework and decision making
- Ensure statutory duties are delivered in line with legislation and best practice
- Monitor performance, case quality and service standards across the team
- Conduct supervision, coaching and support staff development
- Work collaboratively with internal departments and external agencies to prevent and relieve homelessness
- Contribute towards service improvement and effective service delivery
Qualifications
- Significant experience within Housing Options and Homelessness services
- Previous experience supervising or managing frontline housing staff
- Fully conversant with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, Housing Act and Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED)
- Experience managing complex homelessness applications, reviews and statutory duties
- Strong knowledge of homelessness prevention, relief and temporary accommodation duties
- Ability to manage competing priorities within a fast-paced operational environment
- Excellent communication, leadership and decision-making skills
