Job Description

Service Care Legal are currently working on behalf of a leading provider in the affordable housing sector to recruit an experienced Senior Housing Solicitor. This is a rare opportunity to join a highly regarded in-house legal team at a pivotal time of growth and transformation.Our client manages a substantial portfolio of housing stock across London and surrounding regions, delivering essential services to tens of thousands of residents. As a key member of the legal department, you’ll have the chance to influence legal service delivery and help shape the direction of the team.

ROLE: Senior Housing Solicitor
LOCATION:
Central London / Hybrid
SALARY:
£61,531 to £64,769 DOE and interview performance + benefits

Please note that this position requires office attendance 3 days per week.

The Role

We’re seeking a confident legal professional with a strong background in housing and leasehold law, and a passion for mentoring others. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of 5 Paralegals across the team
  • Managing a caseload of housing management and leasehold disputes.
  • Ensuring high-quality legal advice is delivered in line with organisational standards and performance indicators.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to support organisational goals and mitigate legal risks.
  • Delivering legal training across internal teams to raise awareness and understanding of key legal topics.

The Person

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives (FILEX).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ PQE, ideally gained within social housing, local government, or an in-house RP legal team.
  • Strong working knowledge of housing and leasehold law, litigation procedures, and case management.
  • Demonstrable experience of supervising and developing junior legal staff.
