Do you have excellent communication skills and a desire to support individuals experiencing gambling-related harm?
We are seeking Helpline Advisors in London to provide vital advice, information, and emotional support through various channels.
This contract role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a reputable organisation dedicated to helping those affected by gambling harms.
Responsibilities
- Deliver confidential, empathetic, and professional support to callers via telephone, live chat, social media, and email.
- Guide individuals towards recovery and signpost them to appropriate external and internal support services.
- Work as part of the Remote Services team, offering accessible, non-judgmental support across multiple digital platforms.
- Conduct risk assessments, deliver brief interventions, and respond to callers in crisis with care and sensitivity.
- Moderate forums and chatrooms, providing peer support and creating a safe environment for service users.
- Adhere to safeguarding, GDPR, and confidentiality policies while maintaining high standards of practice in a fast-paced environment.
- Document interactions accurately, ensuring GDPR compliance.
- Contribute to the continuous development of the Helpline and related support services.
- Candidate Requirements
- Professional qualification in Health, Social Care, Psychology, or related field (e. g., NVQ Level 3, Diploma in Mental Health Nursing).
- Demonstrable experience working with vulnerable individuals experiencing addiction or complex needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong IT skills, including CRM systems and digital platforms.
- Ability to respond positively to feedback and thrive within a team environment.
- Non-judgmental attitude with a genuine interest in gambling addiction and recovery.
- Flexibility to work across shifts, including evenings and weekends (rotas within your team).
- Lived experience of gambling harm is welcomed and supported.
