Extended Personal Advisor – Leaving Care Multiple Positions Available | Countywide

We are currently recruiting for multiple Extended Personal Advisor positions within a Care Leaver Team , supporting older children in care and care leavers as they make the transition into adulthood and independent living.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced social care professional who wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people.
The Role
As an Extended Personal Advisor, you will hold a caseload of older children in care and care leavers, providing practical and emotional support as they prepare for and move into independence.
You will play a key role in
- Holding a caseload of older children in care and care leavers.
- Overseeing and contributing to Pathway Planning .
- Supporting young people to develop the skills, confidence and resilience needed for independent living.
- Helping prepare looked-after children for adulthood and independence.
- Providing practical support to care leavers as they navigate education, employment, accommodation and other areas of adult life.
- Working alongside social workers, families, carers and multi-agency professionals.
- Providing transport to children, young people and parents/carers where required.
- Maintaining accurate records, reports and case documentation.
- Assessing information and making sound decisions in relation to young people's needs.
- Building positive relationships with young people and advocating for their best interests.
- Working creatively and proactively to improve outcomes.
- Attending supervision and contributing to your own professional development.
About You
We are looking for someone who has relevant experience supporting care leavers or young people within a social care setting , alongside a genuine commitment to helping young people achieve positive outcomes.
- A Level 3 childcare qualification such as NNEB, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Experience working with care leavers and/or young people leaving care .
- An understanding of the needs and challenges faced by young people transitioning into adulthood.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, child development and relevant legislation relating to care leavers.
- An understanding of the roles and responsibilities of statutory and voluntary agencies supporting young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisation and time-management skills.
- The ability to maintain clear, accurate records and reports.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
- Confidence working collaboratively with professionals across multiple agencies.
- Good IT skills, including email and Microsoft Word.
- A creative, preventative and outcomes-focused approach.
Essential Requirements
- Relevant experience working with care leavers/young people in a social care or similar setting .
- Level 3 childcare qualification or equivalent.
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle , as the role requires travel across the county.
- Reasonable adjustments will be considered where appropriate.
- Willingness to work outside standard office hours when required, including occasional early mornings, evenings or weekends .
- Successful completion of an Enhanced DBS check with the relevant barred list check .
