Service Care Solutions are working alongside Kirklees Council who are looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to support their SEND finance team. Please find a description of the role below.
Role: Finance Manager (SEND)
Rate: £500 per day (Umbrella/Ltd)
Location: Dewsbury
Working: Remote
Contract: 6 months on going
Role Overview
- This is abackfillfor the current Children’s FinanceManager, covering thesocial care and learning supportside, including SEND and the High Needs Safety Valve agreement.
- It also incorporatesschool funding, as another FinanceManageris due to leave soon. The plan is tocombine both portfoliosinto one role.
- Qualified accountant (e.g., CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Significant experience in public sector finance, ideally in local authority children’s services.
- Proven ability to lead and manage finance teams effectively.
- Strong experience in financial monitoring, budget setting, and reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to present complex financial information clearly.
- Knowledge of SEND funding, High Needs Block, and school funding mechanisms.
