Join a leading Housing Association in a rewarding permanent role supporting older residents in a vibrant and welcoming Extra Care scheme in Hawkhurst, Kent.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a compassionate and proactive Extra Care Scheme Assistant to support the Scheme Manager in delivering excellent housing management and resident engagement services at Bowles Lodge.
- Assist with day-to-day housing management tasks within the scheme
- Help coordinate and maintain an inclusive activities programme
- Provide a warm and informative settling-in service for new tenants
- Carry out health and safety and fire checks in line with regulations
- Work collaboratively with resident involvement teams and local partners
- Deliver exceptional customer service tailored to individual needs
- Report safeguarding concerns appropriately and uphold confidentiality
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have experience in a housing, support or care environment and a genuine passion for improving the lives of older people.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and confident using bespoke IT systems
- Clear, sensitive communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Organised and able to manage competing priorities effectively
- Self-motivated and confident working independently when required
- Physically able to move around the scheme and respond to emergencies
THE CONTRACT
- 21 Hours per week – 2pm–6pm Tuesday to Friday, 8am–1pm Saturday
- Permanent Contract
- Salary: £14,755 per annum (pro rata of £25,997)
- Flexibility is required for training and occasional emergency cover.
- Lunch allowance paid when unable to leave the scheme due to lone working.
- You will not be required to work bank holidays. However, if Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day falls on a Saturday (a standard working day), the hours will be made up on the following Monday.
- Own transport is desirable but not essential if you can reliably reach the scheme.
- An enhanced DBS check will be required and is paid for by the employer.
