Role Purpose
As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in leading from the front delivering high-quality, evidence-based assessments for children and young people referred for Autism and ADHD. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure accurate diagnoses and compassionate communication with families, supporting better outcomes and access to care. You’ll be part of a values-driven organisation that invests in clinical excellence, collaboration, and innovation — giving you the tools and professional support to focus on what matters most: helping children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operation of the clinic
- Liaise with the Bookings team to communicate and coordinate client-specific requirements ahead of assessments
- Resolve logistical challenges that arise in busy clinic settings (e.g. clinician absence)
- Support clients and families through the appeals process, and manage complaints in conjunction with the Team Manager
- Provide clinical support during the onboarding of new clinical staff, and support the wider team's ongoing skills development
- Work with the Team Manager to identify and address gaps in clinical processes
- Monitor resource requirements and help develop new resources to support and enhance clinic delivery
- Escalate issues to the Team Manager and work together towards resolution
- Provide support in MDTs for complex cases
- Identify training needs across the team
- Provide line management to a small group of clinicians, Assistant Psychologists, and Clinical Support Workers
- Carry out Quality Assurance checks on clinical diagnostic reports to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to professional standards
- Deliver high-quality diagnostic assessments alongside leadership and team support responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with HR and the Team Manager to plan, coordinate, and participate in the interview process for clinical roles
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 year’s professional registration with relevant regulatory body: NMC – General Nurse / Learning Disability Nurse / Mental Health Nurse; HCPC – Occupational Therapist / Speech and Language Therapist; SWE – Social Worker
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience conducting diagnostic assessments for Autism and/or ADHD in children and young people including DIVA, ADI-R and ADOS.
- Experience leading a team and delivering clinical supervision.
