Job Purpose
We are currently recruiting for an Data Protection and Compliance Officer to support a busy compliance team within a housing organisation.
The role has arisen due to an increased volume of Subject Access Requests and additional preparation work relating to STAIRs.
You will be responsible for ensuring data protection requests are logged, managed and completed efficiently, accurately and within statutory timescales.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and respond to Subject Access Requests, ensuring statutory deadlines are met.
- Liaise with colleagues across the organisation to obtain and collate relevant information and data.
- Maintain accurate records of data protection breaches, complaints and requests for personal information.
- Support the Compliance Solicitor and wider data protection team with compliance records, registers and documentation.
- Record and assist with probity matters, including declarations of interest, gifts and hospitality, fit and proper person assessments and insider dealing.
- Track requests and cases to ensure they are progressed appropriately.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Complete additional compliance and administrative tasks as required.

- Previous experience working within data protection is essential.
- Experience managing or responding to Subject Access Requests.
- Good understanding of data protection requirements and statutory deadlines.
