Location: Doncaster. Contract: Permanent. Salary: £33,708. The role is part of a Public Sector client based in South Yorkshire. The role joins the Highways Asset Management Team and supports the project management and delivery of highway surface treatment programmes and associated maintenance works, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, industry standards and asset management principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery and management of highway surface treatment contracts and develop associated works programmes.
- Deliver projects on time and within budget from the approved annual highways maintenance programme.
- Undertake feasibility studies and site inspections, identify suitable treatment types, quantify materials and costs.
- Administer contracts including arranging pre‑start and progress meetings, maintaining CDM documentation, and raising Streetworks permits.
- Monitor contractors on site, carry out workmanship checks and ensure compliance with legislation and standards.
Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require a Level 3 qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or significant experience in highways maintenance. Other qualifications and experience that would be beneficial:
- Experience monitoring contractors and undertaking site inspections.
- Knowledge of Highway Asset Management and lifecycle planning.
- Understanding of Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and GIS mapping systems.
- Experience liaising with residents, elected members, statutory undertakers and contractors.
- Strong technical knowledge of surface treatments such as Surface Dressing, Micro Asphalt and Footway Slurry.
- A valid UK manual driving license.
Salary offered: £33,708.
