Service Care Solutions is working with a reputable local authority, based in Derbyshire, which is looking to recruit an experienced Criminal Prosecutions Lawyer to join its team. This is a fantastic role for a qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive with strong criminal litigation and advocacy experience looking for a varied caseload within the public sector.
Location: Local Authority – Derbyshire
Contract Length: 3 months ongoing
Key responsibilities:
- Managing criminal prosecution matters from inception through to conclusion.
- Conducting advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court.
- Providing legal advice to council departments and officers.
- Preparing summonses, witness statements and prosecution files.
Requirements:
- A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive.
- Proven experience handling criminal prosecutions.
- Previous local authority experience desirable but not essential.
- Strong advocacy skills and ability to attend court regularly.
