Service Care Solutions is working with a respected local authority, based in Derbyshire, which is seeking an experienced Criminal and Regulatory Solicitor to join their legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified legal professional with strong advocacy and prosecutions experience to take on a varied caseload within a supportive local government environment.
Role: Criminal and Regulatory Solicitor
Location: Derby – court attendance required
Salary:
- Umbrella Rate: £50–£55 per hour PAYE Inc.
- Contract Rate: £43.61 – £47.96 per hour
Contract Length: 3 months ongoing – open to part time
Responsibilities:
- Manage a mixed caseload of criminal and regulatory matters on behalf of the authority
- Conduct advocacy and provide legal advice across a range of enforcement issues
- Handle criminal prosecutions and regulatory matters
- Attend court approximately 2–3 times per week
- Manage cases from instruction through to conclusion
- Draft legal documentation and prepare cases for hearings
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor (England and Wales) with 3 or more years of PQE in criminal litigation and regulatory law
- Confident undertaking advocacy in court
- Ideally experienced working for a local authority within a criminal and regulatory legal team
