Warwickshire County Council are seeking experienced and dedicated Locum Children’s Social Workers to join the Child Protection and Safeguarding Teams.

Salary: £33.30 per hour (in line with the West Midlands Memorandum of Understanding)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children subject to child protection plans, children in need and those who are looked after.
  • Undertake assessments and statutory visits in line with national and local safeguarding procedures.
  • Develop and implement robust care plans in partnership with children, families and multi‑agency professionals.
  • Prepare high‑quality reports and present evidence in court proceedings where required.
  • Contribute to child protection conferences, looked‑after reviews and core group meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, agencies and families to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children.

Qualifications:

  • Social Work England registration.
  • Experience in child protection, safeguarding and care proceedings.
  • Skill at building strong respectful relationships with children, families and partner agencies.
  • Confidence in completing assessments, managing risk and making evidence‑based decisions.
  • Organised, resilient and able to manage a demanding caseload effectively.
