Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a South London Local Authority for an experienced Civil Litigation Lawyer to join their in-house legal team. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a varied civil litigation caseload while benefiting from flexible hybrid working.

£50-55ph umbrella / £48.91ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £43.64ph PAYE exc. holiday pay
CONTRACT:
3 months with possibility of extension, 35 hours per week (1 day per week in office)
The Role:
You will manage a broad range of contentious matters, providing high-quality legal advice and representation across the Council's litigation portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a varied caseload of general civil litigation , including residential and commercial landlord & tenant disputes.
- Manage contractual, tortious and judicial review matters from pre-action through to enforcement.
- Represent the Council in tribunals and courts, handling contested and technically complex cases.
- Advise officers on legal risk, strategy and dispute resolution.
About You
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX Fellow) with practising rights.
Significant experience handling a broad civil litigation caseload, ideally within local government.
Confident managing contested matters and advising on complex legal issues.
