Are you a dedicated Children's Social Worker seeking a rewarding opportunity in Stockport?
We are recruiting for a Children's Social Worker to join our Kinship Care Team on a 2-week contract.
This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and their families, in a supportive environment that values expertise and commitment.
Responsibilities
- Support and supervise Kinship Foster Carers to promote stable placements
- Conduct viability assessments to determine suitability for kinship care
- Complete Regulation 24 assessments to facilitate minimal intervention and support plans
- Manage duty tasks on a rota basis, providing timely responses to child safeguarding concerns
- Maintain comprehensive case records and ensure adherence to regulatory standards
- Collaborate effectively with multi-agency teams to safeguard children
- Ensure compliance with all statutory responsibilities and safeguarding policies
- Candidate Requirements
- Hold a valid Social Work qualification (e. g., BA/MA in Social Work)
- At least 5 years of relevant social work experience
- Previous experience working with kinship care or related fields is highly desirable
- Clear references covering the last 5 years
- Ability to complete viability and Regulation 24 assessments accurately
- Strong communication, organisational, and conflict resolution skills
- Pass all compliance checks and Df E recommendation questions
